Cheers and Jeers – Feb. 22
Cheers and Jeers - Feb. 22

We’re back.  Tell a friend.
I hope you all have been well.  Italy was quite wonderful, but I’m not unhappy to be back.  Let’s get right down to it.
Cheers to seeing things for the first time a second and third time.  I was driving back onto Furman’s campus the other day, from a koolaid and protein [...]

Cheers and Jeers

Because everyone needs a little more Love (and Hate) in their diet. It’s a healthy balance with a little bit of garnish d’adorable. Jump on in for more.

New Sustainability Policy

As of this coming fall, all students will be required to take pottery classes as part of Furman’s effort toward sustainability, according to a press release from Furman University on Wednesday.

Cheers & Jeers April!

You woke up this morning, and guess what? It’s April! Hopefully it won’t bring too many more showers, or we’ll have a flood. It’s that time of the week again where we celebrate and decry those events in the week that have us talking. Hit the jump for more.

Cheers and Jeers, Return Of

From the dilapidated desk where opuses are done daily comes the devious and devilishly debonair do-gooder, decrying the deleterious and declaring the dutiful deeds done by the denizens of the dean’s domain.

That’s right. Humpday Cheers and Jeers is back.

Cheers and Jeers [Feb. 18]

Realizing that this week might just be that much more stressful than you had ever guessed when you woke up Monday morning? Come inside for some laughs and a diversion from those humpday blues, because Cheers and Jeers starts after the jump.

Cheers and Jeers [Feb. 11]

You know what time it is. Oh yeah. It’s Wednesday. You know what that means.
IT’S BUSINESS TIME.

Officer 21

Pissed about getting a parking ticket? Pissed about getting 10 parking tickets? Pissed about the thought of getting a parking ticket?

This post is for you.

Profanity a Felony?

This is why we love South Carolina. Robert Ford, a Democrat and a state senator, has introduced a bill that would make speaking or writing profanity a felony, punishable by a 5,000 dollar fine or up to 5 years in prison.  Oh, yeah, and writing and disseminating profanity?  That’s a felony too.
Keep it classy, SC.

Cheers and Jeers [Feb. 4]

Welcome to your weekly dose of humpday Cheers and Jeers. Has your week sucked? Find more stuff to complain about! Has your week been awesome? Well, I’m jealous. Join us for print “journalism,” tech nerdery, super bowlery, and everyone’s favorite mammals, all below the fold.

They're Inside the Computer?

This is the moment that you haven’t really been waiting for, because you didn’t know it was coming, but if you had known it was coming, you’d have been waiting eagerly, and now that you know, you’re going to worry yourself into a tizzy until it finally gets here.

Cheers and Jeers [Jan. 28]

I tried in my mind to asianize the title somehow in celebration of the Chinese New Year, but too bad, there are enough R’s already.  What are we cheering and jeering about this week?  Click below the fold to see…

Cheers and Jeers: Inauguration Edition [Jan. 21]

Okay, so now that the semester has started in earnest, it’s time for another installment of Humpday Cheers and Jeers.  The hilarity and histrionics start after the jump.

Pimping the Site

Hey all,
Happy thanksgiving!  I hope you all stuffed yourselves full of turkey and didn’t get trampled trying to grab cheap crap made in China.  Not that it has anything to do with China.
I just wanted to let you all know that I have made quite a few updates to my website over the holiday, and [...]

Cheers and Jeers: Turkeyday Edition

Good morning everyone!  Or, rather, good afternoon, because if you’re sane, you’re not going to wake up before noon on your thanksgiving break.  Regardless, welcome to this week’s edition of Cheers and Jeers!  This week we’ve got Kanye, a repudiation of alternative lifestyles, and everyone’s favorite…
Cheers and Jeers starts…. NOW!

Our time-honored creed…

For those of you who said that this day would never come…

Cheers and Jeers [Nov. 12]

Good morning, all, and welcome to the first of what will hopefully be a long-running series here at the Furman Underground.  The concept is simple.  Cheers and Jeers is a way of bringing you the news, about Furman and our greater world community, in a thoroughly biased fashion; cheers for those things that have brightened [...]
