The photo above illustrates the default web
interface for FirstClass. I figured out how to change
into something AWESOME, all by accident.
So this is awesome:
So go to the Preferences menu in your FirstClass program. See it at the top?
Then go to the option at the right. Select “FirstClass enhanced.” Save your options and exit.
Then go to fcweb.furman.edu and log in with your username etc. to see the new interface – the same as your program interface – but on the internet. So if you ever need to check FirstClass on a computer without it – or want to forgo the program completely – it’s nice and pretty.

Pretty sweet. Guess I can get rid of the desktop client now.
Can’t tell if it’s any more sluggish than the default interface — what do you think?
Snappier or less so? Worth the eye-candy?

I think that’s a pretty good find. You can change the setting in the web client, too.
I’ve tried in both Safari and Firefox. I prefer the FIrefox display, and some of the keyboard shortcuts work in FIrefox, but not Safari.
I have encountered one limitation with using FirstClass calendars on the web, though. I can’t export calendar entries. That’s pretty important to me, so I’ll be sticking with the desktop client.
I can see how might find this setting preferable.

Fred
