Well, Mr. Jobs, it looks like you have done it again; you have set the tech world ablaze with a new iteration of an old idea.
After months of speculation and countless fanboy wet dreams, Steve Jobs, Apple CEO and fashion icon, announced Apple’s new tablet. What is it named, you ask? The iTouch? How about iTablet? iMexpensive?
The geniuses that are Mr. Jobs & Co. have settled on –wait for it– the iPad. I think that we can all agree that it is not the most ground breaking name (this seems to be the only category in which Apple innovation is lacking), but they have no doubt established a dynasty with their line of “i” products.
While I personally enjoy Windows 7 more than OS X, the iPad is something we haven’t really seen before. A decent price and full compatibility with all existing iPhone apps may push me into considering my first foray into Apple hardware. Maybe.
This quote from the Wall Street Journal summarizes everything related to this announcement perfectly:
Last time there was this much excitement about a tablet, it had some commandments written on it.
